About the Health Department
Public health services in Morton County are a joint effort and responsibility of county government and the state of Kansas. The Morton County Health Department is responsible for administering local public health programs, preventative health services, and enforcing state and local public health rules.
The Morton County Health Department is further governed by the Local Board of Health which consists of the Morton County Commissioners, Bill Light, Jim Tucker and JW Finn.
Services Provided
Services offered by the Morton County Health Department is aiming for a proactive, not reactive approach to community health to improve wellness for a stronger, healthier, happier community through mental health education, early interventions, promotion of healthy lifestyles and immunizations as well as disease and injury prevention.
In order to diminish your waiting time and to help us serve you more efficiently, we ask that you call ahead to make appointments. Services are open to any and all individuals, regardless of religion, race, color, national origin, age, handicap, sex, or insurance status. A sliding fee scale may apply to some service fees. Lab services are scheduled daily from 7 to 8:30 am, Children's Health exams on Tuesdays, and Women's Health services are on Wednesday mornings, as providers are available.
